In this episode, I talk about drugs, supplements, and food with Dr. Amy Sapola who is a PharmD, functional medicine trained, and Integrative Medicine trained and many other modalities. We talked about Deprescribing, pharmacogenomics, the energetics of food, different diets, and chronic pain, and the opioid epidemic.

Regarding deprescribing, we talked about how people are in so many medications, PPIs and fractures, and how more supplements are not necessarily the best thing always.

In regards to pharmacogenomics, we talked about the infancy of this field and how we have not learned how to reap all the benefits yet. We talked about how she has been using pharmacogenomics in the hospital and how pharmacogenomics has a great potential to improve the quality of care with psychotropic medications.

Different diets have always puzzled people and they don't know which one to do. We discussed vegetarian Gladiators vs carnivore Eskimos. Dr. Sapola shares with us her Journey during gestational diabetes and how meat was the only thing that helped her stabilize her blood sugars.
