1. Acupuncture

Acupuncture is effective for the treatment of chronic pain and is therefore a reasonable referral option. Read more here

2. Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy reduced anxiety, increased sleep, and stabilized the BP of patients undergoing cardiac stent insertion. Read more here

3. Music Therapy

Music therapy treatment improved the following: global and social functioning in schizophrenia and/or serious mental disorders, gait and related activities in Parkinson’s disease, depressive symptoms, and sleep quality. Read more here

4. Chiropractic

Recommendations can be made with some confidence regarding the use of spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) and mobilization (MOB) as a viable option for the treatment of low back pain (LBP) and neck pain (NP). Read more here

5. Movement-oriented mind-body approaches

Movement-oriented mind-body approaches such as yoga, tai chi, and qi gong may be beneficial for sleep, especially in older adults and cancer survivors. Read more here
